140 Litre Concrete Grease Trap

Water drained from industrial and commercial premises often contains material which is either too dirty or potentially hazardous to allow into the sewer, and Pre-treatment is required to separate this material so that it does not overload the local authority water treatment plant.

A particularly common kind of unacceptable contaminant is oily or greasy waste generated in business premises where food is prepared. Passive types of Arrestor are traditionally the most cost-effective way of removing grease and silt from trade waste.

This process relies on a fairly low flow rate through the unit. As a general rule, there should be an average 60 minutes of retention time so that the operating capacity is also the hourly flow rate. Fluids pass through a number of chambers where the waste matter’s natural buoyancy causes it to settle to the bottom, or float on the surface of the contained water in the Arrestor.

The accumulated scum and sludge waste matter can then be removed by authorised contractors for removal to approved disposal facilities.

Our 140 litre trade-waste Arrestors are designed for connection to standard 100mm drains and has three removable concrete baffles for easy cleaning, and to permit simple replacement in case chemicals in the wastewater cause deterioration. Two-piece concrete covers are standard and risers are also available. Note that these units are not intended for installation in areas exposed to any form of vehicular traffic.
